Officer sits on Newer Volcanic clay — Class M reactive under AS 2870. Builder driveways from the early 2020s already show hairline cracking where mesh was laid on dirt rather than on bar chairs. We engineer every Officer driveway to Class M minimum: SL92 mesh on bar chairs over 100mm of compacted Class 3 crushed rock, 32MPa concrete with air entrainment, control joints every 3m.
